HISTORY

From the past
to the future

Herdade do Perdigão has been producing wine since the 1990s, but it was in the 2000s that began to establish itself as a benchmark in the wine industry, with the construction of a new cellar and the planting of new vineyards. In fact, the winemaking history of Monforte dates back around 2,000 years, when the Romans applied their vinification techniques and produced wines that reached the nobles of the Empire.

WINE TOURISM

A different experience

Situated on the Alentejo Wine Route, Herdade do Perdigão opens its doors to all who wish to visit. Come and meet us, admire the 70 hectares of vineyards that surround us, explore our cellars, and taste our wines.

In the 19th century, with the phylloxera plague, vine and wine production in this area of Monforte was completely abandoned, with the exception of Herdade do Perdigão, which believed in the potential of this generous and unique land.
